MSME Registration Pune

Pune leads MSME online registration, Thane 2nd

NASHIK: Pune has finished first in the online registration of micro, small medium enterprises (MSMEs) for Udyog Adhar with 6,104 units in the past one year. Pune topped the chart with 14,347 registered units. Thane and Aurangabad districts finished second and third with around 11,160 and 9,656 units, respectively. Around 1.54 lakh MSMEs have registered online across all districts in the state since October 6, 2015 till date. After the Centre's directives in September last year, registrations of new MSMEs in the state have been made online and linked to Aadhaar card numbers from October 6, 2015. Accordingly, an entrepreneur opening a unit in MSME categories has to submit his Aadhaar card number while registering online. An industry department official said, “The government had simplified registration of new MSMEs to boost the ease of doing business. Earlier, the entrepreneurs had to do all the process manually. Now, they need not come to the office. They can register online by submitting their Aadhaar card numbers. Pune district recorded the highest number of registrations.“ He added that Pune, Thane and Mumbai Suburban have good potential and, accordingly, the maximum number of MSMEs was reported from these cities. The MSMEs had to earlier submit the `Part One' certificate to the office of the state's District Industries Centre (DIC) while opening a new unit. The `Part Two' certificate had to be submitted after the plant starts commercial operations. However, the state later canceled both the certificates and introduced the online registration system. According to the statistics by the Centre's MSME ministry, Bihar has topped from among 36 states and union territories in the country in the online registration of MSMEs for the Udyog Adhaar with a total of 4.79 lakh online registrations. Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are the second the third respectively. Around 2.38 lakh and 1.86 lakh units were registered in UP and Tamil Nadu respectively over the past 14 months. Maharashtra stood fourth with 1.54 lakh online registrations, while Gujarat stands fifth with 1.5 lakh registrations. In all, 17.86 lakh MSMEs have registered for the Udyog Adhhar across 36 states and union territories in the country from September 1, 2015 to November 5, 2016.
